Who Are We?

Biggleswade Baptist Church (BBC) is made up of people just like you. Office workers, teachers, nurses, single parents, school pupils, engineers and plumbers … we are just like everyone else in Biggleswade in that respect.

We are also Christians, people who are experiencing God’s love and the new life He gives through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, by the power of His Holy Spirit.

As Christians we believe that God’s message of love is for everyone, including those living in and around Biggleswade! It is because we believe this that our aim is “To know Jesus and to make him known”. This means we bring people to Jesus to be a part of His family, help them become like Jesus in their every day lives and enable them to serve both in the church and in the community - everything we do is based on this aim.

We are part of the much wider family of Christians that makes up God’s Family worldwide.
We are just one part of the Christian Church in Biggleswade and we seek to join with the other local churches in bringing to the town a living demonstration of God’s grace in Jesus.

We belong to the network of Christian churches, the Baptist Union, which is one part of the Worldwide Christian Church Family, and historically known for its practice of baptising those who believe in Jesus rather than baptising infants.

We are also a member of the Evangelical Alliance in the UK.
