Debt is increasingly crippling people's lives and is a key problem for many families in the UK. Biggleswade Baptist Church, working in partnership with Christians Against Poverty (CAP), have opened a centre to help people to get in control of their money.

CAP helps people of all religious backgrounds become debt-free by offering advice and negotiating with creditors. Centre manager Alison Ertl said: "The worst thing someone in debt can do is stay silent, so I would urge anyone in financial difficulty to contact me. Being in debt is nothing to be ashamed of and I know we can work together to provide a lasting solution."
