Well, that’s not completely true because this is a post, and you’re reading it! However it will be brief, simpl;y giving an update on some things for the coming weeks.
First off, from today, there will be no more Wednesday Blog. To help balance workload and time we will be moving to a Blog on Monday and on Friday, with Wednesday covered by “Midweek with Martin” Facebook Live in the evening.
Secondly, our usual practice in August is to suspend pretty much everything apart from Sunday morning services, and have barbecues instead of evening services. However, this August is an unusual one for obvious reasons! Therefore, this Sunday the leadership Team and Stewards are trialling an evening service back in the building – please do not come if you have not been invited as you will not be allowed in – this is a trial run to make sure everything we need to have in place is indeed in place. The service will be livestreamed so you can join in as usual from home – please remember your own bread and wine for communion! If this service is a success we will look to gradually open up other evening services – Connect Prayer and Sunday Night is Movie Night, but at the moment no New Songs service as there is still a ban on singing in Church. Also you will be asked to wear a face covering on top of all the things we outlined in the recent survey.
Midweek with Martin and the two Blogs will also continue throughout August, and please do be assured that we are looking at ways to relaunch small groups both in the building and online through Zoom. Of course anything connected with using the building is still dependent upon Government and BU advice, along with the possibility of a second wave of the virus or a localised lockdown.
Hope that helps. Any questions, please get in touch using any of the usual methods. And please do continue to “pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests…be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.” (Ephesians 6v18)
